Compose

You can display and collect text using Chorus. When creating a mobile app, the Text composer tool is the primary way to add text that will be displayed in your app.  Use text composer to add, edit, and preview text that users will be displayed to users of your app. Text composer also makes it easy to format your text using a menu bar of preset headings as well as buttons to add links, lists, and images.  

Text composer is the primary way to display text in your app, however you can also use Chorus to collect text information from your users. Learn more about collecting text inputs from your users by using the text field and text area tools.

How to add text to your app using text composer

To add a new text composer item, navigate to the Compose page and select "add new element."

Select "Text Composer" from the add new element menu. 

Within the text composer menu box you can directly type or paste the text you'd like to appear in your app.

Select from the below menu buttons to customize the font and type settings for your text:

• Redo/Undo: enables you to go back and forth, to quickly undo or redo an edit.
  

• H1-6 & pre: quickly formats your text to a standardized heading option (1-6). Note: Pre is the default text setting. Highlight your text and select one of these to quickly update your formatting.
  
  

• ": sets your text to caption format.
  

• B - S: formats your text to bold, italics, underline, or strikethrough.
  
• Alignment & Indents: select from left, center, and right alignment as well as create indents to format your text.
  
  

• Insert Photo & Insert Hyperlink: allows you to insert a photo or link within your text input.
  

When you add a text composer to a page, you can see how it will look to your clients once you click "Add text composer."

Managing Elements

Mousing over an element will highlight the element area. Use the pencil icon to edit or remove that particular element. You can also use the arrow icons to move an element up or down on a page. Click on the yellow plus sign to add a new element to a page.

The text composer supports variables, meaning you can display customized content based on the data collected in your application. To display content stored in a variable, Chorus uses "{}" to insert information from a variable using the text composer. 

For a variable table called "my" and the variable field called "name":

You would use the operator:

{variabletable.variablefield}

Which would appear to the author and Client as below:
