Mobilize
Once you've created your app and it's ready to test and share, it's time to Mobilize! This basically turns your app ON and enables clients to interact with your app. You'll need to do this before anyone (including you!) can start using your app.
Chorus supports three interactive methods:
- Mobile web: This is the webpage version of your app. Configure and share a link (URL) to your app and users can access your app through their smartphone, tablet or computer.
- Text messaging: Users can also interact with simple text messaging. Connect a Twilio phone number to your app and share the phone number with your clients or setup schedules to push out text messages to your clients.
- Voice: Similar to text messaging, clients can call your app with the Twilio phone number you configure to interact with your app with their phone and touch tone pad.
To start, go to the Mobilize section by clicking on the rocket ship icon in the left-hand navigation to open the publishing page.

From here you can select to publish any or all of the three interactive methods that Chorus supports: mobile web, text messaging, and interactive voice (IVR).
Zones
Zones are how you can provision access to different parts of your app to specific clients (or groups). You can setup more than one zone for each interaction type.
For example, you may have a four-page mobile app with two parts: Participants and Admins. The participants have three pages: Menu, Survey, and Thank you. The admins have one page: Results. The zone for participants would start at "Menu" while the zone for admins would start at "Results".
Mobilizing your mobile app
Once you activate your mobile app, clients will be able to access it clicking on the link (URL) with their mobile phone, tablet or computer. You can setup more than one "Zone" for mobile apps. Think of each one as a separate entry point for your users with links (URLs) associated with different zones. So for example if you had a series of interactions that were related to a specific topic (like learning how to do deep breathing exercises) then create a zone for that topic. Create new zones to associate entry points for new topics.
Overview of settings:
- Connect a location (URL): Type something friendly to recognize your app. Whatever you type here will be used to create the unique link (URL) for your app if it is available (for example: "https://chorusplatform.io/m/my-app-name-here")
- Starting Interaction: This is the mobile interaction that clients will see when they go to the link you created above. Select a mobile interaction you created previously. Typically a main menu type of page.
- Set login title: Click this area to set a title that clients will see when prompted to login
- Set login permissions: Click "LOGIN REQUIRED" to require users to use their email and password to login before accessing your app. "PUBLIC ACCESS" will allow people to access your app without a login (so it will be public - anyone with the link can access it)
- Grant access: If you selected "LOGIN REQUIRED" you can specify what type of individuals can access your app.
- Anyone with the link: Any Chorus user (not just ones added in your Clients list) will be able to access your app
- Only clients from this app: Only clients added in the Clients section of your app will be able to access your app.
- Only selected groups: Only clients that belong to specific groups in the Client tab (that you add to this section once this is selected) will be able to access your app. For example, let's say you have a page that you only want 'administrators' to access. Create an 'admin' group, add clients to it, then specify here that only members of the group 'admin' can access this page.
- Enable self sign up: If you selected "LOGIN REQUIRED" you can allow Clients to create their own Chorus account before being added to your application.
- Add new mobilize zone: Create a new entry point for users.

To activate your application, click the "OFF" button at the top right to toggle it "ON". Your zone will turn blue when it is active. If you'd like to deactivate your app at any point, simply click the "ON" button to turn it back to "OFF" status.

Mobilizing your text message app
Once you activate your text messaging app, clients will be able to access it by sending a text message the phone number that you associate with your app. You can setup more than one "Zone" for text messaging apps. Think of each one as a separate entry point for your users with different phone numbers associated with different zones. So for example if you had a series of interactions that were related to a specific topic (like learning how to do deep breathing exercises) then create a zone and associate a number for that topic. Create new zones to associate new numbers for new topics. Note: Each zone in Chorus supports one Twilio phone number.
Overview of settings:
- Starting Interaction: This is the text message interaction that clients will receive when they text your app's phone number. Select a text messaging interaction you created previously. Typically a welcome message for new users of your texting app.
- Set timeout: Enter a number (in minutes) that Chorus will wait to receive a response from your clients. If they respond after this period of time, they will receive the "Starting Interaction" you selected above.
- Connect a phone number: Select a Twilio number that you setup previously. Click "Configure" to connect a new number or Twilio account.
- Grant access:
- Anyone who texts the number: Any user (not just ones added in your Clients list) will be able to access your app
- Only clients from this app: Only clients added in the Clients section of your app will be able to access your app.
- Only selected groups: Only clients that belong to specific groups (that you add to this section once this is selected) will be able to access your app. For example, let's say you have a text message phone number that you only want 'administrators' to access. Create an 'admin' group, add clients to it, then specify here that only members of the group 'admin' can access this number.

To publish, click the "OFF" button at the top right to toggle it "ON". Your zone will turn blue when it is active. If you'd like to deactivate your app at any point, simply click the "ON" button to turn it back to "OFF" status.
Mobilizing your interactive voice app
Once you activate your interactive voice app, clients will be able to access it by calling the phone number that you associate with your app. You can setup more than one "Zone" for interactive voice apps. Think of each one as a separate entry point for your users with different phone numbers associated with different zones. So for example if you had a series of interactions that were related to a specific task or topic (like learning how to do deep breathing exercises) then create a zone and associate a number for that topic. Create new zones to associate new numbers for new topics. Note: Each zone in Chorus supports one Twilio phone number.
Overview of settings:
- Starting Interaction: This is the interactive voice interaction that clients will receive when they call your app's phone number with their telephone. Select an interactive voice interaction you created previously.
- Connect a phone number: Select a Twilio number that you setup previously. Click "Configure" to setup a new number or Twilio account.
- Grant access:
- Anyone who calls the number: Any user (not just ones added in your Clients list) will be able to access your app
- Only clients from this app: Only clients added in the Clients section of your app will be able to access your app.
- Only selected groups: Only clients that belong to specific groups (that you add to this section once this is selected) will be able to access your app. For example, let's say you have a voice interaction that you only want 'administrators' to access. Create an 'admin' group, add clients to it, then specify here that only members of the group 'admin' can access that interaction.

To publish, click the "OFF" button at the top right to toggle it "ON". Your zone will turn blue when it is active. If you'd like to deactivate your app at any point, simply click the "ON" button to turn it back to "OFF" status.
